Yorktowne Hotel Gains National Recognition

The Yorktowne Hotel is the proud recipient of the prestigious
2009 Achievement of Excellence Award presented by the American Culinary Federation. The American Culinary Federation is the largest association of professional chefs in North America, and an ACF award proves skill, knowledge and professionalism and recognizes foodservice establishments that exemplify commitment to excellence in the industry.

The award presentation was held at the World Center Marriott Orlando this past weekend at the American Culinary Federations National Convention in the presence of over 1000 chefs and hospitality professionals.  Accepting the award on behalf of the Yorktowne was Mark Pawlowski, the hotels Executive Chef/Director of Food & Beverage.  Pawlowski, a long time member of the ACF, has attained the level of Certified Executive Chef and is currently working on the level of Certified Master Chef. Pawlowski states: “ This award represents years of dedication, perseverance, and passion for the culinary arts.  It is an honor for the entire Food & Beverage team here at the Yorktowne, both present and past.”

Other recipients of this year’s award were Charlie Trotters- Chicago, The French Laundry-Yountville CA, The Inn at Little Washington- Washington,Virginia, Le Coq Au Vin,-Orlando and the Hartstone Inn-Camden, Maine.

The Yorktowne has two restaurants, the AAA Four Diamond Commonwealth Room, offering contemporary continental cuisine in an elegant, refined setting, and the Offcenter Grill, which features a more eclectic menu in a casual atmosphere.  Both restaurants offer an extensive wine list and the hotel offers complimentary valet parking to all of the restaurant’s guests.
